The Great Ace Attorney is an anime-style visual novel that involves puzzle-solving and logic! Writes M Ellis
In the Great Ace Attorney, you play as Ryunosuke Naruhodo, a student at Imperial Yumei University and an ancestor of the main Ace Attorney protagonist, the legendary Phoenix Wright. This is an interactive game where you can choose what happens. You play as an attorney so you must pay close attention to the dialogue or you risk missing out on vital evidence! The puzzles (known as cases in this game) slowly get more difficult and you must keep an eye out for anything suspicious!
The Characters
Ryunosuke is studying law alongside his friend, Kazuma Asogi, in hopes of getting a chance to go to England to properly study law. Other colleagues include Susato Mikotoba, an assistant who helps you for most of the game, and Herlock Sholmes (yes, that’s his name) who’s an eccentric detective who loves a good puzzle.
The cases are amazingly good and they get tougher, but they are exciting and mysterious. The witnesses are weird, wonderful and sometimes hilarious. Unfortunately some cases are so tough or confusing that you may find yourself consulting the internet for help. Despite this, the game, even though it’s the price of one, contains BOTH entries in the Great Ace Attorney Series! And even the soundtracks, 3D models, art of the game and unused content are included in the settings!
Overall, a great addition to the Ace Attorney series. With fantastic graphics, characters and cases, it’s worth a good 4.5. It loses a 0.5 due to difficulty, but it doesn’t stop it from being an incredible game.
